Why did HDR never actually take off? WL implemented that you needed to have a wii to get ctgp, why not go all the way with HDR? I remember a lot of hype when it got announced, and then it just died off. What happened?

Because all it takes is 1 person who doesn't meet the requirements for HDR (or just has a really unstable connection in general) and the whole room suffers instability from it (and the person who can't handle it lags even worse than if HDR was turned off).

Bean needs to make HDR dynamic or have a toggle of like 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% data rate (100% being what we currently have) in order for it to be viable for competitive.

Check out these analytics regarding HDR: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1...YUF-uh-ON_aVg634yCEIPVOugg5cPfQ/viewanalytics

The analytics with 19 answers doesn't really carry much weight, you can't really tell much from it. How much has the HDR without meeting requirements thing been tested? And do you know is Bean currently has any plans with the dynamic HDR? Less laggy mkw should be a priority if possible imo

19 answers doesn't carry much weight yes (because unlike the VR search survey a bunch of lazyasses ignored filling it out), but of the people who did answer it, you can see 1 and 3 being the minimum to cause the room to be unplayable.

Yes Bean and Chadderz have talked about a dynamic HDR, but when they would plan to implement it is unknown.
